Srilankarama Buddha Vihar stands in the historical city of Kosambi (modern-day Kaushambi), India. The temple was founded in August 2005 by Ven. Dr. Talammahara Siri Visuddhi Nayaka Thero when he purchased a small plot of land in the name of the Ananda Bodhi Society of India, building a modest shelter.
With the generous support of local communities and international Buddhist devotees, this project has transformed into a fully equipped temple complex. Today, it stands as a symbol of regional friendship, spiritual refuge, and humanitarian care.

A direct roadways bus service has been launched between Kaushambi (Kosambi) and Sarnath by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). This new service brings major relief to devotees, Buddhist followers, and general travelers who previously had to change vehicles midway. The manager of Sri Lanka Rama Buddha Vihara, Ven. Talammahara Siri Visuddhi Mahathero (Bhante T. Shir Vishuddhi Mahathero), celebrated the launch of the direct bus service by distributing sweets at the Kaushambi bus stand. Devotees and local residents expressed great joy and gratitude for this new service, which will boost religious tourism, strengthen connection between historically and religiously significant sites, and make pilgrim travel much more convenient, safe, and time-saving.
To celebrate the direct bus transport link, our chief monk Ven. Talammahara Siri Visuddhi Mahathero personally distributed sweets at the Kaushambi bus terminal, celebrating the ease of transit with pilgrims and transit personnel.
